There is no administration site associated with the Shared Services Provider…

Hi,   

Developers working with excel services in SharePoint may face this issue,

When trying to launch a excel report using excel services, the browser will display

‘Access Denied’. You dont have permissions to open this file on Excel Services. 

If browsed to the event log, you will see an entry as shown below,   

There is no administration site associated with the Shared Services Provider SharedServices1.   

Fix:   

1. Browse to the Central Administration > Application Management > Manage this Farm’s Shared Services. 

2. Set the correct SharedServices as default (using Change Default SSP button) 

3. Associate the default site (SharePoint – 80) to the default SharedServices.
